Hamline congratulates the winners of this year’s Office Olympics. According to junior Anna Mowry, the main director of the seventh annual Office Olympics, this year’s first place winners were team “-(MoMo)^2” from ITS, captained by Tristan Jahnke.

Second place went to the Conference & Event Management team, captained by senior Deanna Smith. Third place went to “Hamline Admission” from the Office of Undergraduate Admission, captained by Madysson Belden.

“I think my team did so well because we just had fun with it,” Smith said.

There were eight teams total that participated. The three games included tossing a ball into a red solo cup and picking up items using pencils as chopsticks as well as the paper-tossing contest.

The event also included the running of a torch, Mowry said, entrusted this year to sophomore Benjamin Klimek. The torch running involved circling the gymnasium as the theme from the Rocky movies played over the speakers.

Current HR Manager, Lynn Willmert, extended thanks to both Mowry and sophomore Elizabeth Renkas as co-directors of the events. According to her, the student workers planned everything on their own and showed an impressive initiative for this year’s Olympics.
