12 holiday things to do after finals

Since December has probably been dedicated to studying and various projects, here are various things for any level of holiday festivity!

1. Wells Fargo WinterSkate Have some skating fun at this Downtown St. Paul ice rink. Don’t worry if you don’t have skates, you can rent for $4. The rink is free and is open until Feb. 7.

2. Holidazzle Located in Loring Park, this annual holiday event features something for everybody. Enjoy Minnesota cuisine (Lefse!), shop local vendors, an ice rink and other special events (Fireworks! Santa! Carriage rides!) going on throughout December. Holidazzle is open through Dec. 20.

3. Holiday Flower Show at the Como Zoo Conservatory Not feeling the cold? Warm up in the Como Zoo Conservatory while enjoying some holiday flora. Then head over to the Zoo and check out the polar bears! Both are free.

4. Go see A Christmas Carol at the Guthrie Check out the Guthrie’s 41st production of this Christmas classic. A great excuse for a night out at the Guthrie. Tickets start at $34 and runs through Dec. 27

5. Check out a version of The Nutcracker The Twin Cities offers a host of different takes on this tradition winter ballet. For the more traditional, look into productions by Twin Cities Ballet or Ballet Minnesota. For those not so into classical ballet, try the Nutcracker (not so) Suite for twist on the classic.

6. Brave the Mall of America Catch up on your holiday shopping or just have an end of the year treat yo self day. If shopping isn’t your thing, go on some rides or check out holiday performances going on in the rotunda. Just be warned, avoid going on weekends and weeknights!
7. See the Glowing Tree in Bloomington Don’t leave MOA without seeing this Twin Cities local legend. The tree is located just south of the mall, off Cedar Ave.
8. Watch some holiday movies Run over to Bush Library and check out some holiday movies and have yourself a night in. If leaving the house is too hard, ABC Family and Netflix always have something to watch.
9. Make some holiday cookies What’s better than some holiday movies and Or if that’s too much work, just go buy some.
10. Go skiing or snowboarding The Twin Cities has some great options for this. Or just go sledding. It takes less skill than skiing or snowboarding, and arguably more fun.

11. Build a snowman Or better yet, build a snowbishop & show your #PiperPride

12. Catch up on life Read the news. Call your mom. Binge watch your favorite TV show. Finals are over, you can return to life now.
