These twelve pages that litter campus every Wednesday can now once again claim to be award-winning.

This Sunday at the close of the annual Best of the Midwest convention held by the Associate Collegiate Press (ACP), the Oracle took home three, first-place awards. Two were for individuals, and one was for a single issue in the Four-year Weekly category.

The individual awards went to Photo Editor Tim Schnell and Editor-in-Chief Rikka Bakken.

Schnell won first-place in the News Photo category for the photo printed in last week’s edition (reprinted above) of junior Marie Carola Scneider at the Teach-in on Feb. 3.

For the article entitled “Senior outraged at Hamline response,” Bakken won first-place in the News story category. The article was published last February, and featured the story of recent graduate Rachel Winter (‘16) going through the Title IX process as a survivor of sexual assault.

As a weekly paper at a four-year university, the Oracle won first-place for last week’s issue, which featured a story about the Teach-in at the top of the front page.
